What are Calmeroos?
Calmeroos Puppy and Calmeroos Kitty are designed to appeal to your pet's natural instincts by recreating the experience of cuddling up to their mama and littermates when there wasn't a care in the world!
There are 3 important elements that are combined to comfort and soothe your pet.
The plush: First, we created a super soft and cozy plush for your pet to snuggle up to. Our plush has no small plastic pieces so it is safe for your puppy or kitten. The Calmeroos plush has a pouch in the underside belly that holds the heart and heat pack.
The heart: Our heart produces a comforting heartbeat that reminds pets of their mother and littermates. The heartbeat can be both heard and felt by your pet for maximum soothing.
The heat packs: Our air-activated disposable heat packs are very long-lasting - 36 hours each! - and provide comforting warmth inside our Calmeroos products when your pet needs it most. We include 2 long-lasting disposable heat packs with our Calmeroos. Use only one heat pack at a time inside the Calmeroos plush. The heat pack is designed to release consistent and comforting heat while inside the Calmeroos pouch.
Do Calmeroos benefit pets of all ages?
You bet! Calmeroos can be used to provide comfort to pets of any age.
Calmeroos are perfect for:
- helping puppies and kittens transition to their new home and sleep through the night
- alleviating pet stress and anxiety in a variety of uncomfortable situations
- easing loneliness and nervousness, in particular when separated from those they love
- comforting in new and fearful situations
Are Calmeroos Puppy and Calmeroos Kitty machine washable?
Yes! You can wash your Calmeroos plush by itself, on gentle cycle, and either air dry or tumble dry on low heat. Do not use a fabric softener as it can deteriorate the velcro.
Please ensure the heart and heat pack are removed PRIOR to washing.
What should I do if my pet wants to chew on the Calmeroos plush?
Calmeroos is not meant to be a toy. If your pet is mistaking his new companion for a chew toy, simply remove the Calmeroos from your pet for at least 30 to 60 minutes, and then re-introduce the Calmeroos. Repeat the process until your pet begins to relax and snuggle up to their Calmeroos. They will begin to form a special bond with their new pal!
How do you turn the heart on?
To turn the heart on, simply switch on the black toggle switch on the back of the heart - easy for you to operate, but not easily turned off by accident. The heart will run continuously until you decide to turn it off.
What type of batteries does the heart require?
The heart is operated by 2 - AAA batteries which are included. The batteries are easily replaced by unscrewing the single screw on the battery cover using a small Phillips screwdriver (with the X tip), and sliding the cover upwards to reveal the batteries. Simply remove the old batteries and replace with new AAA batteries. Place the cover back over the batteries, and screw the cover closed.
Is it safe to place both the heart and heat pack together in the pouch at the same time?
Yes - the heart and heat pack are designed to be placed together in the pouch at the same time. The heat from the heat pack is safe next to the heart.
How do I activate the disposable heat pack?
The heat pack is activated when exposed to air.
Do not open outer packaging until ready to use.
1. When ready to use, remove heat pack from outer packaging.
Heat pack will warm up when exposed to air.
Do NOT use scissors to open outer packaging.
Do NOT microwave heat pack.
Do NOT tear, puncture or cut heat pack.
2. Immediately after opening, place heat pack in underside pouch of Calmeroos.
Heat pack will warm up while inside Calmeroos pouch.
Heat pack warms up in 15 – 30 minutes.
Enjoy up to 36 hours of warmth.
3. When heat pack contents feel solid and no longer warm, dispose with regular garbage. Ingredients are safe for the environment.
How long does each disposable heat pack last?
We have designed our heat packs to be extra long-lasting. You can expect each heat pack to last up to 36 hours.
Tip: To prolong the life of your heat pack, you can temporarily pause the heating process by placing the heat pack inside a resealable plastic bag and removing as much air from the bag as possible. When ready to use again, simply open the bag and place the heat pack back inside the Calmeroos pouch.
Should I let the heat pack warm up before putting it inside the Calmeroos pouch?
No, that is not necessary. Once the heat pack packaging has been opened, the heating process begins immediately, and the heat pack should be placed inside the Calmeroos pouch. The heat pack receives more than enough air in order to continue to heat up inside the Calmeroos pouch.
How long does it take the heat pack to warm up?
The heat pack will begin to warm up as soon as the packaging is opened, however it will take approximately 15 - 30 minutes for the heat pack to produce enough heat to be felt through the Calmeroos pouch.
How hot does the heat pack get?
The average temperature of the heat pack reaches approximately 51ºC (124ºF) to 63ºC (145ºF) when used as directed.
What are the heat pack ingredients?
Each heat pack contains iron powder, water, activated charcoal, vermiculite and salt.
The heat pack ingredients are all-natural and odorless.
What should I do if my dog ingests some of the heat pack?
While the ingredients are all-natural, the heat pack and its contents were not meant to be consumed. If your pet has accidentally consumed any portion of the heat pack, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

Is Calmeroos a charity?
No, Calmeroos is a brand name that is owned by Wanna Play Products Inc., which is a for-profit small business. We are passionate entrepreneurs who are proud and excited that our business model allows us to continue to give to incredible pet-loving organizations without the need to rely on donations to do so. It's a sustainable model that we hope has an impact for many years to come.
How do your pet food donations work?
When you purchase a Calmeroos Puppy or Calmeroos Kitty, we donate 2 pounds of pet food (or the financial equivalent of 2 pounds of food) directly to shelters and rescue organizations across Canada and the US.
We donate a combination of money and actual pet food depending on the needs and preferences of the organizations we support.
How many meals does 2 pounds of pet food provide?
2 pounds of pet food will feed approximately 5 medium-sized dogs a 5 oz meal and 5 medium-sized cats a 1.5 oz meal. We wanted every Calmeroos purchased to impact at least 10 pets in need.
Do you donate your Calmeroos Puppies and Kitties too?
Absolutely, yes! We love that our Calmeroos have the privilege of providing a comforting snuggle to pets in need. Shelter life is not easy, and if there is any way to bring them some extra love and comfort, we want to be a part of it.
Can I recommend a shelter or rescue to you?
